A short flight from Johannesburg will bring you to thisspectacular fresh water lake in the heart of Africa - nearly 600 kms long and up to 80 kms wide - providing some of the finest fresh water cruising available anywhere and certainly the most enjoyable and varied cruising in Southern Africa.
Lake Malawi is a tropical paradise of breathtaking beauty and contrasts, from miles of golden beaches to towering mountain ranges. This together with the clear, warm aquamarine waters and steady winds will imprint this sailing adventure on your mind forever.
Our sailing cruisers are roomy and
comfortable yachts with proven ability for all weather conditions. They accommodate 4-6
persons in comfort and are easy and safe to handle. The boats are fully equipped with
safety, as well as camping equipment, linen and basic supplies for those taking long
distance cruises. A dinghy is provided in tow for shore trips and well trained Skippers
are available to assist. Our specially created packages are designed to cater to most needs, providing you with the escape and relaxation which only a sailing cruise can provide.
"Beachcomber" Sailing holiday - This is a live ashore holiday based at an attractive and comfortable beach resort on the southern lake shore. Daily sailing trips, each to a different destination, are provided on our sailing cruisers as part of the total package. Also included are snorkelling equipment, picnic lunches on board and cooldrinks. There is no better way to explore the wonders of this spectacular lake!
The Beachcomber holiday combines the
convenience of shore based facilities, whilst allowing you to visit the Lake
Malawi National Park at will. Explore the varied shoreline and secluded bays ;
visit various uninhabited islands; watch the birdlife and go snorkelling to see the great
variety of colourful tropical fish which are exclusive to these waters; do some hippo spotting, feed the fish eagles! Alternatively, laze on a sparkling beach or around the pool, visit
the local markets and obtain carvings of superior quality; dine nightly under a dazzling
canopy of stars! The all inclusive package is on an per person sharing basis, and provides
accomodation, DBB, daily cruise (weather permitting) plus snorkelling gear, picnic lunches
and soft drinks on board. A Boat Skipper is also provided to assist and guide you to each
daily destination. If you do not know how to sail, he will soon make sure you do.
"Voyager" Sailing
holiday - This is a live aboard sailing holiday from three or more days. For cruises in excess of
five days your first and last night are spent in our comfortable resort FREE! Your boat is
fully equipped, including fuel, camping equipment, snorkelling equipment, bedding, linen and foodstuffs. The package includes meals and soft drinks on board.
Transport from Makakola airport is provided at no extra charge. Relax in glorious sunshine, experience romantic beach barbecue's and
spectacular sunsets away from the maddening crowds!
Standard equipment includes safety equipment, picnic equipment, food cold storage boxes, snorkelling equipment and bedding. A Boat Skipper is mandatory and facilities are provided for him to camp ashore at nights to secure equipment and provide privacy. He is available to assist in all areas as well as protection of the boat on shore trips. Minimum of 2 passengers required.
There is enough variety to ensure that every day is indeed different!.
