I Should've Known Better, Ch. 9 Chapter Nine

When I awoke, I could feel a cool breeze whipping through my hair and strong arms holding me tight. As I looked up at the owner of those safe warm arms I saw John's sweet face. OK, so I had fallen for him, in a big way, but I could never tell him that.

"How long have I been asleep?" I asked quietly.

"About an hour." he replied never taking his eyes off the sky.

"I thought you needed to get home and pack." I inquired curiously.

"Well, you were so peaceful, and I hardly ever get to be around when you don't have a smart-ass remark." he laughed.

"Very funny John, I could say the very same thing about you." I laughed in return.

It was true, we were very much alike. It was an uncanny resemblance. The same smart mouth, and the same hot temper, I bet we'd be great in bed.

OOPH!! Smack myself in the head for even thinking like that!!
You know though, I could sample the goods before they're gone.
Nah, that's crazy. Aah, what the hell, who cares anymore, he's a very attractive man, plus I'm in love with him, what harm could it do?

"John, would you mind hanging out at your hotel with me for a while tonight?" I asked in a flirtatious voice.

"If you would like to." he replied.

"Sure, let's go." I smiled, at least I'd have something precious to remember. I got up and walked into the house to let my mom know where I would be, but everyone was already in bed. So I just left a note. Soon, I was back outside with my coat and purse, and I was ready to roll.

On the drive over to the hotel, I was starting to get nervous.

"So, uh, what made you want to go to the hotel?" John asked smirking.

"I don't know, I guess I'm just tired of sitting around at my house." I replied keeping my eyes on the road.

John started fiddling with the radio which was a relief to me, that means no talking. But that didn't matter, for soon after we were in the parking lot.

In the elevator, I was starting to rethink my decision, but when I looked over at his face, I was mush. His eyes were so hypnotizing, and his soft skin was so kissable, and those lips, and you can't leave out those sexy sideburns. I had never seen anyone look that good in sideburns. But what if I do this and I wind up being more hurt than I was before? What if I take this too far, and he just disappears.

"Something on your mind luv?" he asked with a sparkle in his eye.

"Oh, nothing really." I answered with a nervous laugh.

As he unlocked the door, I couldn't help but notice I was fidgeting, and couldn't stop.

As we entered the room, I noticed Paul was nowhere in sight, and I'm not sure if that's bad or good. I noticed his door was closed and concluded that he was probably sleeping.

"Well, would you like a drink or something?" He asked standing by the bar.

"Uh, sure, I'll take a crown and Coke, actually, just make it straight Crown." I smiled.

"OK, you got it." he smiled.

I wonder if he even knows what I'm up to. No, if he did he'd be acting a little more cheeky than this. What's odd is that for someone who is usually being a smartass and such has managed to be so sweet lately. I wonder if something is on his mind.

I was broken from my thoughts as John sat next to me, handing me my drink. As soon as it was in my hand, I just downed the whole thing, John just giggled and did the same with his drink.

Sitting the glass on the table, I soon started fidgeting with my hands again, and I guess John noticed because he grabbed them up in his and just held them for a second.

"You're acting very nervous tonight luv, are you sure you're all right?" he asked once again with a more concerned look on his face this time.

"Oh, yes I'm fine." I said trying to be sincere.

"I don't believe you." he smiled. Now I know something's up with him.

I just stared into his eyes trying to read them, but couldn't. I just kept staring into his eyes as he slowly raised my hands up to his mouth, he started kissing each finger, one by one. I thought I would just faint. It did calm my nerves though.

As he got down to the last finger, he just held both of my hands between both of his, and they fit so perfectly.

I just kept staring into his eyes, I couldn't stop, like I said before they are hypnotizing.

"There, no more fidgeting." he grinned and then let go of my hands, which was a big disappointment to me.

"How about some music?" he asked.

"Sure, that's fine." I tried to smile.

He got up and flipped on the radio, and Elvis' "Love Me Tender" was on. I loved this song.

"Wanna dance?" he asked holding his hand out to me.

I gladly accepted.

He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist, and I placed mine around his shoulders and we just swayed closely to the music. I rested my head on his shoulder, and he nestled his face in my neck.

Oh, how I wished he would just kiss my neck, I could feel his silky lips resting there. He must have been reading my mind because he started softly trailing up my neck with little kisses until he reached under my chin. Lifting my head, I was once again looking into his eyes, and him in mine, and I got just what I wished for. He leaned in and softly but passionately kissed my lips, I let myself go, as the kiss got deeper.

I knew what would be likely to happen tonight, just what I had planned.
