Just to give all of you reading this a little background on myself, I'm a
fairly new fan fiction writer, the author of There Are Places I Remember and
Learning to Fly. For those of you wondering about the title, it's from a
line in "Dear Prudence", one of my favorite Beatles songs. In this story, the
main character "opens up her eyes" to her own life, which is why I think the
title is appropriate. I don't want to give away any of the plot, so I'll
just say that it's about an American girl in college who gets tired of her
monotonous life and decides to spend her summer vacation in London. You'll
have to read on to find out more . . . Since I was born a very long time
after the Beatles broke up, I'm not familiar with some specifics of how
things were in the Sixties, so don't let a few historical inaccuracies bother
you! Also, there are no chapters in this fan fiction, there are "notes,"
which at the end of the story will create a "song" when put together, so to
speak. Since this is an incomplete story as of yet, I would greatly
appreciate any and all feedback that you have, so feel free to e-mail your
comments to me at Blackbird0164@yahoo.com. So, put on the White Album, turn
up the speakers, and begin reading. I hope you enjoy it. :)
