When they got home it was almost time for their date. They dressed hurriedly in their rooms. Joey chose an outfit similar to the one she wore to the concert, but added a shawl for the night would be cool.
Joey and Jenny were talking about what they were hoping to do on their date, when they heard a car door shut. It was Paul and Ringo. Jana walked out of her room and answered the door.
"Hi," Paul said. "Is Joey ready yet?"
"My, my, my are we always this impatient?" Jana asked while leading them into the hallway.
"Maybe I have a good reason." Paul said with a twinkle in his eyes.
Mom entered the hallway at this time. Paul instantly turned on the McCartney charm. Mom was taken with him and couldn't take her eyes off of him either! Joey could hear them talking. but couldn't make out what they were saying. When her father walked up, she went into shock.
"Please don't embarrass me, Dad." Joey thought to herself.
He didn't disappoint her. She could see that Paul had everything under control.
Joey and Jenny walked out of their room and both Paul and Ringo whistled long and low.
"Thank you." the girls replied.
Paul turned to their parents.
"It was nice meeting you." he said. He picked up Mom's hand and kissed it.
She blushed. "Oh, our pleasure and have a good time."
"Come on, let's go." Ringo said. Paul turned and winked at Jana.
Jana thought to herself that Joey was going to have a good time tonight and so am I because John will be here soon.
Paul asked Joey to dance and he led her out to the dance floor. Paul was smiling down at her as the song picked up the pace. Soon a slow song came on and Paul pull Joey close to him. He gently pushed her head down on his shoulder. She could smell his cologne mixed with smoke. She closed her eyes and softly sighed. This is where she wanted to be.
"If he would only kiss me now I would be so happy." Joey thought to herself.
It was hard to watch Ringo and Jenny for they were kissing each other like there was no tomorrow.
After that song was over, Paul wanted to cool off so he took Joey out for a walk along the dimly lit shore. A lot of people were out walking so they went a little further down the shore where it wasn't so crowded. Ringo and Jenny disappeared under the boardwalk.
"Do you think you'd be able to live in England?" Paul asked.
"So long as I am with you I know I could." she smiled.
He smiled back and put his arm around her and pulled her close.
"I have some business to take care of here before I go." she said.
"I've already talked to Brian, our manager, about me staying here with you and later escorting you to England."
"What about Jenny?"
"I think she and Ringo are busy." he smiled knowingly.
"You mean..." Joey started. She clamped her hand over her open mouth. "They're doing it, aren't they?"
"Ringo said something to me earlier about it," Paul said.
"You tell each other what you're going to do on your dates?" Joey asked.
"Not usually." Paul answered.
"Jenny has no morals." Joey said softly.
"Do you?" he asked.
"Of course I...I've never done it before." Joey blushed slightly.
"Hey, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. I don't like girls who sleep around." Paul said.
"Jenny doesn't sleep around. She got serious with a guy before, but he wound up breaking her heart after she had sex with him." Joey said with a hint of anger in her voice.
"What a jerk!" Paul exclaimed. "I supposed he bragged to all of his buddies."
"Of course, but no one believed him." Joey smiled.
"Good!" Paul exclaimed.
By this time Ringo and Jenny were walking in their direction hand in hand and both smiling from ear to ear.
Paul looked dreamily into Joey's eyes, "Goodnight, angel luv. See you tomorrow." he said.
"Goodnight, Paul," she answered him.
After they left, Jenny looked at Joey, "Goodnight angel luv?" she asked raising her eyebrows.
"Well, don't look at me, I didn't ask him to say that." Joey blushed.
"I saw that dreamy look he gave you. That man is in love!" Jenny exclaimed.
"Oh come on." Joey said, blushing even more.
"Paul McCartney is in love with you, I just know it." Jenny teased.
"Well, what about you and Ringo?" Joey asked.
"We did the deed under the boardwalk and it was something like I've never experienced before. Does that answer your question?" Jenny asked.
Joey just shrugged and turned off the light.
