"So, John, your welcome to stay with me if you like, after all you've done for me." Jeanna offered.
"Well, that's great luv, I was hoping you'd say that." he replied smiling.
"So, John, how long are you staying?" Ramsey asked.
"Well, I'm not quite sure, we'll have to figure that out later." he said quietly.
As they arrived at Jeanna's house, they proceeded to get their things as she unlocked the door and go in the house.
"Ramsey, you wanna stick around a while?" Jeanna asked.
"No, I gotta get home, and I'm sure you two would like to talk." he said slyly.
"All right, well, call me tomorrow." she said hugging him good-bye.
"All right, I'll see you two later." He said smiling and waving.
"Well, I guess I'll show you where you can sleep." she said while closing the door.
"All right, lead on my lady." he said bowing.
"Well, you'll have to excuse the posters, uh, this used to be my room," she said while opening the bedroom door to reveal familiar faces plastered on the wall.
"Well, I am quite photogenic, aren't I." he said eyeing a Beatles poster above the bed.
"This is kinda embarrassing." she said blushing.
"Oh, don't fret, it's all right." he said while putting his arm around her.
Not wanting the moment to end, she extended her arm around his waist sneakily.
"Are you getting fresh with me young lady?" he asked while wagging his finger at her.
"Uh, no......do you want something to drink?" Jeanna asked, quickly changing the subject.
"Do you happen to have any Scotch?" He asked.
"Well, I think all I have is beer and Coke, take your pick." she replied.
"Beer." they said simultaneously.
As she grabbed the beers out of the refrigerator, he plopped down on the couch.
"Very nice little 'ouse you got 'ere." he complimented.
"Thanks, nothing compared to yours I'm sure." She retorted.
"Ah, but you wouldn't know would ye?" he asked coyly.
"How would I, I've never even been to England." she said.
"Well, maybe you will one day." He muttered under his breath.
"What was that?" she asked curiously.
"Oh....uh...nothing." he said trying to disguise his embarrassment.
"Well, whatcha wanna do?" she asked.
"How about a tour?" he suggested.
"All right, this way sir." she directed like a tour guide.
She proceeded to walk to the kitchen.
"On your immediate right you will find the refrigerator, and on your left the pantry, you can find what little food I might have there." she said walking through to a back entry.
"OK, now, we are at one of my favorite features of the house, the sun room. It used to be the back porch, but with a little remodeling, I have turned into what beauty you see now." she said pointing to the glass wall and ceiling that viewed the large wild flower garden in the back yard.
"Very nice." he complimented while noticing the wicker lawn furniture piled with magazines.
"Now, on to the bedrooms." she said.
"Wohoo, me favorite part." he said smiling deviously.
"Don't get any funny ideas, Lennon." she said smacking his arm.
She continued through a little doorway from the kitchen to the hallway.
"As you know, to your right, is your room, and right here across the hall is my room. Up ahead, is the extra bathroom....end of tour." She said quickly trying to walk away.
"Wait a minute, just wait, don't I get to see your quarters?" he asked sweetly.
"Um, well it's kinda messy." she said making an excuse.
"No bother my dear, come on...please?" he whined.
"Well,....." she started, interrupted by John.
"TOO LATE!" he said, swinging open her door.
"WAIT, NO!!" she pleaded.
It was too late, he was already in. He just stood looking around.
"It's not messy, I think it's quite nice, decorations are grand." he said smiling and picking up a framed picture of himself from her dresser.
"Oh, that's old, uh, I don't know what to say." Jeanna stuttered out of embarrassment.
"Well, it seems to me, that I might have gotten myself into a bit of trouble." he said feigning fright.
"Oh, come off it, I'm couldn't hurt a fly." she said in an effort to pull him out of the room.
As she grabbed his arm and pulled him, she was suddenly spun around and found herself on her bed pinned under John.
She looked up to see him smirking at her.
"You wanna wrestle with me?" he asked while flexing his muscle.
"I give." she replied out of breath.
"That easy? I was ready for a good throw down." he said, pretending to be disappointed.
"Maybe another time, now, uh, let's go watch TV or something." she continued nervously.
They got up off the bed slowly, and made their way to the living room. Sitting on the couch, Jeanna started thinking.
"John, why did you stay?" she asked.
"Well, like I said, I needed a vacation, and who better to spend it with than you. I want to get to know you better, and NOW'S my chance." he answered honestly.
"Well, I'm glad you decided to stay here. I thought we'd never see each other again." she told him.
"That's whatcha get fer thinkin' luv." John said propping his feet on the coffee table.
"I hope Julia calls soon, I want to hear how things are." Jeanna said gazing off into space.
"Well, I'm sure that won't be for a while, they've only been gone four hours, and the flight lasts eighteen." he said.
"Oh well, I'm really happy for her. She got everything she wanted, her fairy tale." Jeanna sighed.
"Didn't you get everything you wanted?" John asked, scooting closer to her, looking in her eyes.
"Well, no, I want too much to get what I want." She replied sadly.
"What do you want?" he asked her.
"Well, I want my fairy tale, I want to find my soul mate, I want a wedding fit for a princess, I want to be swept away to some faraway place, I want to go to Ireland, maybe Italy, I want every girl's dream." she replied.
"You'll have all that one day, I'm sure of it." he said smiling and putting his arm around her.
"I hope so." she said resting her head on his shoulder.
They sat there like that for the rest of the night, and soon fell
asleep, waking up every now and then, but neither one moving, so as not to
wake the other. Wishing to keep this peace forever.
