This "FAQ sheet" is here to explain some of the idiosyncrasies of the rec.pets.cats.anecdotes newsgroup to newcomers. FAQ means "Frequently Asked Questions" and was originally created on the 5th September 2000, after its original editor, Vicky Chapman, known as "Yowie" on the Newsgroup, got sick of newcomers telling group members to stop typing in capitals.

It is not meant as a comprehensive guide to cat ownership, although some of the really common questions we get asked may be addressed. Its is in no way meant to compete with other cat-FAQs
