Falling Short are 3 lads from around the Glasgow area, Graham Gillespie (guitar/vocals) and Robbie Gunn (drums) from Cambuslang and Paul Choi (bass), who hails from Rutherglen. Together we play some grungy rock music laced with some metal influence.

The story of the band all began back in the early days of 2003, when Graham and another young lad named Tom Heard, also a guitarist, jammed out the first few bars of The Misfit's 'Die Die My Darling' in Tom's room, and then decided to try and start a band. They began looking to recruit a bassist, guitarist and singer to complete the line-up, but found that this was harder than it seemed, and it was a good month before they found Graeme McCaskill to take up the drumkit duties. Graeme then introduced Tom and Graham to his friend Paul Choi, a bass-player, and the first line-up, under the name <b>'ExodustragiC'</b> was completed.

The foursome practised solidly during the Easter holidays at Cambuslang's Universal Connections, driving several employees mad with the racket. The band still didn't have a full-time singer, but Graham was eventually persuaded to take up vocal duties along with playing guitar. The band improved during this period, putting pen to paper and writing two full songs, 'Bump 'n' Grind' and 'Joey', and also volunteered to play their first gig in Cambuslang main street at the SummerFest.

However, soon after that Graeme left, and the band (now christened <b>'AyatollA'</b>) were left without a drummer heading into the gig. The unanimous desicion seemed to be to cancel, but exactly a week before the gig itself, and on the very day the rest of the band were planning to cancel, a couple of young lads called Robbie Gunn and Gordon Cooper volunteered to save our asses and share drumming duties so our gig could go ahead. The band, all 5 members complete with dual drummers, practised every day for the week before the show.

The show itself, on the 21st of June 2003 turned out to be not so bad, we got put in the Precinct where there were only like 20 - 30 people watching us, and we got some good advice from the wise Gary Brown of Meiklejohn before the show. We played the Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Californication", Nirvana's "Drain You" and "Breed", Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters", The Misfit's "Die Die My Darling", and "Bump 'n' Grind" and "Joey", the band's two own self-penned songs. It was a fun day and a good experience, although we haven't gigged since, we're looking forward to again some day.

The band then felt action needed to be taken and things needed to be sorted out by the summer. It was decided to split the band into two seperate bands, since the metal and grunge styles were clashing too frequently. The metal project that was born out of this split, featuring Graham, Paul, and Tom Heard, is called <b>NO QUARTER</b>. And the rock end of the split saw the birth of <b>FALLING SHORT</b>.

Falling Short got writing together during the summer months, and three more songs, "Dust", "Beast" and "Crutch", were written. The band continues to write and some demo songs are expected to be available for upload on the internet very soon.
