I am also a Dodson[maiden name] and Thorton Mozingo was my great-greatgrandfather. He was born in Ky and went to In in 1830 or 40. His wife's name was Minvera. They moved to Iowa in 1860's and to Mo in 1870's. Their daughter was Nancy Jane. Nancy married Morrison Wilson and their daughter Nida married my grandfather Silas Dodson. His father was Andrew Dodson from Mo. I am also interested in finding who Thorton parents were. Hope someone can help us both.

This is the information I have on Nancy Jane. Her birth date matches those found on the 1850 census Ripley Co. Indiana and 1860 census Davis Co. Iowa for Thornton and Minvera Mozingo daughter. She married Morrison Wilson May 20 1866 in either Scotland Co. MO. or Knox Co. Ohio. They had eight children. Their first child was born in 1867 in MO. Their third child was born in Iowa in 1871. They named one of the girls Minvera. I can't find them on the 1870 census. Thornton and Minvera are on the Scotland Co. MO. census for 1870 and Morrison father Andrew died in Reno Co Kansas in 1874. 1880 census has Nancy and Morrison in Reno Co. Kansas with three children William,Edgar and Nida. Only three of the children lived to grow up and married,William,Nida and Clarence,who was born last. Nida was my grandmother and born in 1878 in Castleton, Kansas. Nancy Jane died around 1906. Morrison remarried in 1906. On the 1880 and 1900 census Nancy Jane's father is shows born in Indiana not KY. But this information was probably given by Nancy or Morrison and could be wrong .
