Jan Lyn Monzingo Walter passed away Monday, February 20 with her beloved son and daughter at her side. She was born October 31, 1933 in Memphis, Texas to Orela (Jarvis) and William Henry Monzingo. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Jack Monzingo. Jan will be greatly missed by her children, Tanya O'Neil, Matt Ash, and Lincoln Ash and wife Linda, as well as grandchildren Kelle Turner and husband Robby, Laura Ash, Samantha Ash, Andrew Ash, great-granddaughter Ellie Turner, and numerous cousins. She is also mourned by the little fella, Max. After living briefly in California, Jan lived in New Caney until relocating to San Antonio where she was lovingly cared for by Lincoln and Linda Ash. Jan was an extremely creative and talented person whose quick wit and easy laugh brightened any room. Her imaginative stories delighted her grandchildren, while her love of Mexican food and sweets influenced many generations. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 26 at 3pm at Mission Park Funeral Home, 3401 Cherry Ridge St., San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VITAS Hospice or the Humane Society. We'll see you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. None
