MASON, Nellie Mae Mazingo, (Granny), 92, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, December 10, 2000, in Heritage Hall. She was born October 6, 1908 in Rockbridge County, daughter of the late Jefferson and Loraine Giles Mazingo. Mrs. Mason was retired from Burlington Industries where she had been employed as a Spinner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Aubrey William Mason, and three children, Kenneth Mason, James Mason, and Louella Lewis. She is survived by one daughter, Frances Mason Sain, Glasgow; three sons, George T. Mason, Buena Vista, Howard W. Mason, San Antonio, Texas, Aubrey W. Mason, Jr., Hastings, Michigan; one brother, James Leo Mazingo, Buena Vista; and a number of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2000, at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, December 11, 2000, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Counseling Board of Heritage Hall and the Rockbridge Area Hospice.
