ROBERT JOSEPH MONZINGO 1923-2008
Robert Joseph Monzingo, 85, of Gulf Breeze died Saturday, December 6, 2008.
Mr. Monzingo was born on August 28, 1923 in Minden, LA. He was a member of Army/Air Corp Band during WWII. Mr. Monzingo graduated from Stephen F. Austin College in Nacadoches, TX with a Master's Degree in music. He taught high school band in East Texas before becoming Assistant Band director at LSU.
He loved football, baseball, fishing, golf and especially people.
His wife Mary Carol Monzingo preceded him in death.
Mr. Monzingo is survived by his brothers Jack Monzingo of Midland, TX, Clay Monzingo of Houston, TX; sons Rob Monzingo of Houston, TX; Jay Monzingo of Gulf Breeze and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:30pm Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
