STOW -- Silas Mozingo, 85, died July 7, 2008. Born in LaFollete, Tenn., he was an area resident most of his life, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theatre, and had retired as a department manager from Kmart. Mr. Mozingo was a member of First Christian Church of Kent and worked over 20 years at Turkeyfoot Golf Course following his retirement.

Preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera; daughter, Susan (Michael) Factor of Hudson; sons, Charles (Mary) Mozingo of Akron, Edwin (Bonnie) Mozingo of Stow; grandchildren, Michael (Kate) and Cari Mozingo, Kevin and Michael Factor and Brittany and Katie Mozingo; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the 2nd Floor East staff and the Hospice Team at Robinson Memorial Hospital.

Rev. Rebecca Heller will conduct a memorial service Thursday, 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Kent, 335 West Main Street in Kent, where friends may call from 6 p.m. until service time.
