MASINGO, MR. J. C. - age 73 of Sharps Chapel passed away 2:20 a.m. Satuday, November 25, 2000 at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital. US Army veteran of the Korean War. Preceded in death by parents, Charles Masingo and Florence Suttles; brothers, Glen Masingo and John Masingo. Survivors: wife, Idella (Maples) Masingo, Sharps Chapel; daughter, Denise Masingo Helms, Maynardville; sons and daughters in law, Ernest and Tammy Masingo, Bill and Renee Masingo, all of Sharps Chapel; two granddaughters, FaithDenise and Beulah; brothers, Sill Masingo, Sharps Chapel, Zen Masingo, Mich.; sisters, Eula Ray Unsworth, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Pat Lay of Sharps Chapel. Funeral services 8 p.m. Sunday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharpofficiating. Interment 2 p.m. Monday Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites by the East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Tim Woods, Randy Bailey, Virgil Masingo, J.R. Masingo, Pick Weaver, Gary Lay. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday Cooke Mortuary Maynardville.
