Robert Mozingo

MOZINGO, Robert Clayton, 84, resident of West Liberty, W.Va., died Thursday, March 29, 2007 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born March 25, 1923 in Wheeling, W.Va., the son of the late Charles Hammond and Cleo Coral Crane Mozingo.

He was a member of the West Liberty Christian Church; a retired crane operator with 35 years of service at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, Beech Bottom, W.Va.; a Small Boat Mediterranean Minesweeper in the US Navy during WWII. He was also an avid Mountaineer fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gaylord and Frank Mozingo; and his sister, Shirley Grounds.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ryniawec Mozingo; his son, Robert Clayton Mozingo, Jr., and his wife, Mary, of West Liberty; his daughters, Gloria Pyle and her husband, Don, of Petersburg, W.Va., Wanda Wurtzbacher and her husband, Lee, of Wilmington, N.C., and Chris McClure and her husband, Nelson, of West Liberty; his sisters, Eleanor Boston and her husband, Jack, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Lori McClure of Lansing, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many devoted nieces and nephews; and Billie the Parakeet.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Sunday at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, where services will be held Monday, 10 a.m., with the Reverend Dennis Arnold officiating. Interment in Prall Cemetery, West Liberty....
