EUREKA - John W. Mozingo, 71, of Eureka died at 7:40 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 15, 1989) at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Eureka, where he had resided for two weeks.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Olio Cemetery, Eureka, the Rev. Danny Cox officiating.

There will be no visitation. Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Eureka, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Hannibal, Mo., a son of John W. and Esther Rhodes Mozingo. He married Catherine M. Steigberger on Nov. 7, 1944, in Quincy. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Esther Doyle, Madison, Mo.; one son, John, LeRoy; two daughters, Vada Schertz, Eureka, and Carol Butler, Lewis, Kan.; two brothers and four sisters; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, two granddaughters, a brother and two sisters.

Mr. Mozingo was a construction laborer with Local 996 in Roanoke.

Memorials may be made to the Eureka Rescue Squad or to Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

EUREKA - Catherine M. Mozingo, 73, of 505 E. Cruger St., Eureka, died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday (July 19, 1998) at Fondulac Woods Nursing Home, East Peoria. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Eureka, Dalene Kuebler officiating. Burial will be in Olio Cemetery, Eureka. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice.

Mrs. Mozingo was born Sept. 13, 1924, at Bloomington, a daughter of Andrew and Eve Tiber Steigberger. She married John W. Mozingo on Nov. 7, 1944, at Quincy. He died Nov. 15, 1989.

She is survived by one son, John (Dawn) Mozingo, Farmer City; two daughters, Vada (Ronald) Schertz, Eureka; and Carol (Dave) Beavans, Larned, Kan.; one brother, Andrew Steigberger, Bloomington; one sister, Barbara Koch, Bloomington; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, one brother and four sisters.

Mrs. Mozingo had been employed as a waitress and telephone operator.
