Funeral services for Vernon Askins Mozingo, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Bob Cline will officiate with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Brown�Pennington�Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 104 E. Home Ave., Hartsville SC 29550.

Mrs. Mozingo, widow of Mendel M. Mozingo, died Sunday, June 22, 2003. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph D. and Creola Newsom Askins. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Jackie Hall Sunday school class, and the Mary Byrd / Mae Goudelock Circle. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was retired after 47 years with Belk Department Store.

Surviving are her daughter and son�in�law, Sherry and Jimmy Cross of Hartsville; sister, Cynthia Calloway of Georgetown; sister�in�law, Marie Askins of Columbia; and granddaughter, Katelyn Cross. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Askins and Paul Askins.
