SMITHFIELD - Minnie Mozingo Edwards, age 86, died Monday in Smithfield Manor. Born October 6, 1913 in Lenoir County to the late Thomas and Mattie Fields Mozingo, she was the widow of David Archie Edwards and was preceded in death by a daughter Frances Jean Edwards. Minnie was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Smithfield for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Colbert to officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Surviving are her son, Charles Thomas Edwards and his wife Anne, of Columbia, SC; daughters
Ann E. Langston and her husband Willard, of Princeton and Ruth E. High and her husband, Mark, of
Smithfield; sister, Evelyn Mozingo Lane of Mount Olive; grandchildren Charles T. Edwards, Jr., of Columbia, SC, David P. Edwards of Charleston, SC, Ellen Joyner and her husband, Randy, of Rocky Mount Kelly Langston of Smithfield and Wendy Tharrington and her husband, Blake, of Rocky Mount; greatgrandchildren, Brooke Edwards of Columbia, SC; Zachary Tharrington and Emily Tharrington both of Rocky Mount. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 202 South Fourth Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.
