I just found out Thomas Mozingo and Martha Lundy Fields Mozingo are related to the HINSON's.
Thomas Franklin Mozingo son, Zeno Mozingo, married HINSON's sisters...
Dicey Hinson and after her death he married her sister Sunie J. Hinson daughters of
Jessie Hinson and Nancy Jane Barfield Hinson...After Sunie's death...Zeno married for a third time but I don't have the name of this wife. They were Greene County-North Carolina HINSONs and MOZINGO's...

Gayle,
While I get my head on straight enough to answer your questions, I am attaching a decadency chart on the Mozingo's related to the Jeremiah Fields Family. Virginia's Mother was a Fields.
Which Hinson are you speaking of when you asked,"Did these Hinsons have a connection to the one in Castoria-->"?My wife, Virginia Hinson grew up in Castoria on the family farm and/or home place. There is a cemetery there and another maybe a mile or less on the road from Castoria to Walstonburg. I will send you a sketch of both.
According to Albert (Sonny) Hinson in Lizzie, NC, Zeno Mozingo married Dicey first, when Dicey died, Zeno married Sunnie, and when Sunnie died, he married again and lived near Castoria. In the 1920 Census, Zeno's name was spelled Zennoh.and Sunnie was listed as Susan. Dicey and Zeno were listed together so evidently they were married then. I do not have marriage dates for either
There is a possibility that Jessie born September 20, 1785 is one and the same as the Jessie born to George and Margaret mozingo Hinson. She would be 32 years old. The only doubt lies in the fact that our Jessie was born in North Carolina. (Census data)
I do not know where you got a Jean Barfield, but I am sure of Nancy Jane Barfield.
I have found no ties with Sheriff Jessie Hinson of Goldsboro. and I know of no other Hinson researchers other than those in the message board.
In trying to clean up some loose ends, I came across a portion of a letter written by a John Hinson to his "Dear Old Dad" telling Dad how to get from eastern NC to Thomasville and Cairo, Georgia. The first page of the letter is missing. This letter was found among some old deeds belonging to Henry Hinson, Virginia's grandfather. Have you heard any stories relating to a Hinson Family in Georgia that was an extension of Jessie's?
Enough for now, I've got to find those cemetery sketches.
Thank you for your help.
Roy
