Goldsboro - Mr. James Robert Mozingo, 76, of 303 Earl Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, in Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 8, at Seymour Funeral Home chapel in Goldsboro with the Rev. Dr. Al Herrington and the Rev. J. Lewis Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Mozingo was a native of Seven Springs and the son of the late George Frank and Rosa Quinn Mozingo. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of George Kirby Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon for many years and was currently a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church. He was a master craftsman with building and millwork. He retired as the owner and operator of Mozingo's Saw Service and was co-owner of Mozingo Brothers Cabinet and Millwork.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Delmar Mozingo, William Patrick "Pat" Mozingo, Edward Mozingo, and Charles Mozingo; and two sisters, Elizabeth M. Hardy and Lucille M. Ellis. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Mae Crumpler Mozingo of the home; three daughters, Janie M. Fitzgerald of Raleigh, Deborah M. Martin of Goldsboro, and Sharon M. Bradshaw of Turkey; his sister, Rachel M. Thompson of Seven Springs; his brother, Elmer Lee Mozingo of Pikeville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

Rosa Mozingo, 78, of 303 Earl Drive, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday night when she died at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center. A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Alma Henry Crumpler and the widow of James Robert Mozingo. Mrs. Mozingo was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lewis Baker and Dr. Al Herrington officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mozingo is survived by her three daughters, Janie M. Fitzgerald of Raleigh, Deborah M. Martin of Goldsboro and Sharon M. Bradshaw and her husband, Frank Bradshaw, of Turkey; six grandchildren and their spouses, Anthony and Rhonda Martin of Raleigh, Jamie and Sherry Martin of Grantham, Donelle Fitzgerald of Raleigh, Belinda B. and Jonathan Chestnutt of Warsaw, Stephanie B. and Bobby Woodruff of Spartanburg, S.C., and Meredith Fitzgerald of Raleigh; five great-grandchildren, Haley Martin, Nicholas Martin, Skylar Martin, Marissa Martin and Jason Chestnutt ; sister and brother-in-law, Annie Ruth and Jay Roberts of Goldsboro; brother, Bob Crumpler of Houston, Texas; special friend, Pearnell Lane of Pikeville; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Rachel Thompson of Seven Springs; and brother-in-law, Elmer Mozingo of Goldsboro.
