Goldsboro � Sgt. First Class (Ret.) Edward Lloyd Mozingo, 71, of 504 Ridge Drive, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late L. John Mozingo and Lona Lane Mozingo and was a retired supervisor with the United States Army having served 22 years. While serving his country, he was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, and numerous military accommodations. After retiring from the United States Army, he worked with Griffin Exterminating.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Don Stewart officiating. The family will greet friends following the service and other times at the residence.

Mr. Mozingo is survived by his wife, Mary Harrell Mozingo; a son, E. Scott Mozingo and his wife, Meredith of Goldsboro; a daughter, Cheryl M. Dexter of Goldsboro; sisters, Grace Mozingo Woods and husband, Robert C. Woods of Greenville, Joyce Mozingo Brock and husband, Leavy Brock of Greenville and Doris Mozingo Eisaman and husband, Edward M. Eisaman of Goldsboro; brothers, Michael Mozingo and wife, Phyllis Mozingo of Goldsboro and Jimmy R. Mozingo of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren, Nicky Dexter, Heather Dexter and Tyler Mozingo.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial be made to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or Eastern Alzheimer�s, 400 Oberlin Rd., S-208, Raleigh, NC 27605.
