Goldsboro � Mr. Edward I. �Eddie� Mozingo, 53, of 634 Stoney Creek Church Road, died on Monday, January 27, 2003 at his home. He was born in Wayne County to the late Ira Thomas Mozingo and Margaret Edwards Mozingo. He was a long standing resident of the Goldsboro Community initially supporting himself through working with Seymour Funeral Home and earning his funeral service degree from Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, OH. After his career in funeral service, Eddie began promoting his long time goal of having a full time gospel music station on F.M. radio. His tireless commitment to this dream became a reality on July 1, 1998, when WAGO began promoting the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Eddie was currently serving as corporate relations director of WAGO in Snow Hill. Along with a tireless commitment to promote Southern Gospel Music, Eddie has been an active member of the Princeton Church of God in Princeton, volunteering extensively with the sound and music ministry.

More than anything else, Eddie has been devoted to his wife, Vicki Grimes Mozingo. He always cherished his close relationships with his brother, sister and parents. Eddie was a man of incredible faith in God, hope for the world and love for others. He is remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate man and loyal friend to so many. He loved gospel music and had traveled to many parts of the United States with his wife, as well as other family friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Alice M. Jernigan of Rocky Mount; his brother George H. Mozingo and wife, Kaye of Verona, VA; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vanny and Richard Grimes of Goldsboro and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Princeton Church of God with Reverends Kevin Page, Jimmy Whitfield, T.D. Worthington and Bryan Powers. Burial will be Falling Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
