Ernie Mozingo, passed away on Thursday evening; June 25, 2009 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Shenandoah, IA very suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 62.

Ernie was the first of two sons born to Ernie and Mary (Partridge) Mozingo on October 1, 1946. He grew up in Maryville,MO graduating from the Maryville High School in 1965. He accomplished the Explorer level in his boy scout troop. In Sept.1965 he joined the Navy and served his country in Vietnam. He was Honorably discharged in Sept.1969. After discharge he joined the Navy reserves. He was also a member of the Shenandoah National Guards 1970-1980 and of the Shenandoah Amvets. He was Mayor of Riverton for two years. He was employed at the Eaton Corp in Shenandoah for 30yrs when he retired at age 60 in 2006. He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Riverton.

He was united in marriage to Sue Ellen Vaux in1970 at the Methodist Church in Bagley,IA. They had three sons: Mark, Matt and Mike.

He met Marilyn Edwards in May 1983 and their life together began. They were united in marriage on Oct.18,1991 at the Riverton,IA gymnasium and his family grew with three daughters: Lori, Lisa and Tracy and son Willie. Ernie and Marilyn had 26 wonderful years together.They were �perfect� partners in life.

Ernie was preceded in death by his father, his son Michael, his grandson Justin.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Sidney. His sons: Mark and Dawn of Bagley, IA. Matt of Bagley. Willie of Encino,CA. His daughters: Lori and David McKim of Windsor,MO. Lisa and Keith Miller of Council Bluffs,IA. Tracy and Tony Welch of Twin Falls, Idaho. His mother Mary Mozingo Sturm of Maryville,MO. His11 grandchildren: Jamey and wife Becky Mozingo stationed at Fort Stewart,GA. Jason Mozingo of Granger,IA. Morgan Mozingo of Bagley,IA. Angela Dressler of Sedalia,MO. Erica Roup of Sidney,IA. Laura Hendrickson of Lincoln,NE. Marcy Hendrickson and Clay Hendrickson both of Hamburg,IA. Chris, Kevin and Amanda Welch of Twin Falls,ID. His great grandson Cameron Mozingo of Granger,IA. His brother Randy and Sharon Mozingo of Maryville,MO. His brother-in-law Ted and Prudie Edwards of Smithsboro,IL. His sister-in-law Sue and Dennis Phillips of Riverton,IA. His nephews Chris Mozingo of Maryville,MO. Dan and Cory Gordon of Riverton,IA.Cody Phillips of Riverton,IA. Theo Edwards of Smithsboro,MO. His niece Lacy and JJ Miller of Riverton,IA. Great nephews and nieces Jake and Grace Gordon of Riverton,IA.and Logan McDowell and Dillon Dow both of Maryville,MO. A multitude of cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. (July 2) at the Church of Christ in Riverton, IA with Pastor Clarence Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery with military services conducted by the Sidney, IA American Legion.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Shull-Gude Funeral Home in Riverton, IA.

Memorials may be given to the Riverton Church of Christ.
