Man dies in Morganton Road accident
A 23-year-old man died early Thursday after his car hit a stone wall on Morganton Road. Joshua R. Mozingo, of 921 S. McPherson Church Road, was traveling east on Morganton when he lost control of his Pontiac Firebird at the Churchill Road intersection about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and hit the wall, according to Jamie Smith, spokeswoman for the Fayetteville Police Department. Mozingo was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he died. The cause of the crash is being investigated, Smith said.

Joshua �Josh� Roy Mozingo, 23, of Fayetteville, went to his heavenly home Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. His untimely death occurred after a car accident Wednesday night.

After high school, Josh joined the Army and served his country faithfully in Iraq. He was an avid history buff, who loved listening to music, trips to the beach and going out to eat with his family. Josh was also a charmer and had a quick-witted sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Jim; mother, Paula Ryan of Little River, S.C.; stepmother, Debra; brothers, Jeff, Jarad and Jordan, all of Fayetteville, and Jason Miller of Wilmington; grandmother, Pauline Justice of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Tracy; and niece, Kayla.

Friends can join Josh�s family for visitation at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Josh will be buried with military honors in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family will also be receiving friends after the burial ceremony at the home of Jim and Debra Mozingo.
