...Today, I received an email from the only child of my Uncle Charlie's oldest daughter Lynn (Clifton Lynn Dutton DeSille). She wanted to let me know that Lynn had passed away last July. ...Below is the obituary from The Advocate, Baton Rouge, LA. Marelle

DeSille, Lynn Dutton A loving mother, grandmother and friend, Lynn passed away peacefully at her daughter's home Saturday, July 15, 2006. She enjoyed a vibrant and varied life throughout her 74 years. Lynn was born in New York City to Lucille Bourgeois Dutton and Charles Dean Dutton and spent her school years in Delaware and Louisiana. After graduating from Wesley College in Dover, Del., Lynn joined the civilian work staff supporting the U.S. Air Force at Rabat, Morocco, in North Africa, and then worked for 20th Century Fox Studios in Hollywood, Calif. Lynn moved to Baton Rouge after giving birth to her daughter in 1965 and began working for Ethyl Corp. She later joined the staff of the LSU Department of Chemistry and thrived in the LSU community. When James H. Wharton became the chancellor of LSU, he appointed Lynn as executive secretary to the chancellor, where she served until her retirement. Her giving character and love for LSU were further shown by her donation of her body to the LSU School of Medicine. She is survived by her daughter, Arlyn DeSille Edmonson; son-in-law, John Christian Edmonson; grandson, Connor Nicklaus Lynch; and stepgranddaughter, Kailey Jeanee Edmonson. Lynn's joyous spirit and wonderful laugh will be fondly remembered and forever cherished by her family and many friends. A memorial service and celebration of Lynn's extraordinary life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the LSU Lod Cook Alumni Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Hospice.
