James Wendell Mazingo

James Wendell Mazingo, a native of Choctaw County and a resident of Gilbertown, died Friday at an area hospital. He was 68. Mazingo was a retired mechanic with Fort James Corp.

Survivors include four daughters, Andrea Elaine Chadwick of Silas, Ala., Betty Rebecca Peters of Billings, Mont., and Christy Jeanette Mazingo and Carol Newton, both of Gilbertown; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Toxey, Ala.

GILBERTOWN � Funeral services for Helen Jeanette Kelley Mazingo, 65, were held October 8, 2007 from the chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Turner, Rev. Derrick Clark, and Rev. Michael Elliot officiating. Internment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Gilbertown.
Mrs. Mazingo passed away on October 5th at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell Mazingo of Gilbertown and four daughters: Mary Carol (Billy) Newton of Gilbertown, Andrea Elaine (James Cecil) Chadwick of Silas, Betty Rebecca (Brent) Peters of Billings, MT, and Christy Jeanette Logan of Gilbertown; three brothers, Claude Lee Kelley, Jr. of Allentown, PA, Evan Lamar Kelley of Fairhope, and Frank Kelley of North Carolina; five sisters, Lorine Turner and Effie Wright of Land, Alice Chappell of Toxey, Sue Allen of Meridian, MS and Wandis Todd of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Jason Newton, Michael Newton, Amber Chadwick, Suellen Calhoun, and Chelsie Tyson, and two step-grandchildren, Britny Peters and Cameron Peters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Gladys Kelley and three siblings.
Pallbearers included Roy Copeland, Marshall Copeland, David Anderson, Walter Wilson, Randall Lee, and Don Wright.
Honorary pallbearers were Milton Clark, Hugh Bozeman, and members of the Pleasant Hill Fire Department.
