ZAY D. SMITH July 25, 1922-Aug. 15, 2007
PRINCETON -- Zay Dock Smith, 85, of 7394 Hickory Crossroads Road, died Wednesday morning. He was the son of the late Charlie Nixon Smith and Virginia Smith Wall. He is the widower of Ethel Mae Mozingo Smith and is also preceded in death by three daughters, Kathy Fields, Carol Moore and Rose Smith; two brothers; Charlie Smith Jr. and Willie Smith; and one sister; Lillie Mae Edwards.
The funeral service will be 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Casey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery on Friday, August 17, at 9 a.m.
He is survived by a son, Robin Smith of Goldsboro; brothers, Ray Smith and Buck Smith, both of Princeton; sister, Minnie Hill of Stantonsburg; and two grandchildren, Caitlin Smith and Camron Smith.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening and immediately after the service at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
