Irene Mozingo
MANTACHIE � Irene Hendrick Mozingo, 93, entered her heavenly home Friday, October 13, 2006. Mrs. Mozingo was the widow of Robert Mozingo of Jackson, MS, and the daughter of the late Willis Clovis and Floy Irwin Hendrick of the Shiloh Community near Mantachie.
She was a graduate of Itawamba High School. A skilled hairdresser, she owned and managed hair salons in Jackson, TN, Macon, GA, and Mantachie. She was a Pilot Club member for over 60 years and helped found chapters in Brandon and Mantachie.
She was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church near her home and where her family had been members for generations. She had also been an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Tupelo, before her health failed and she moved to Atlanta to be near her daughter.
Her life reflected her Christian faith, love of family and friends and a generous giving heart. An avid gardener, her flowers, and especially her roses, were grown not only for her own pleasure but to be given away for the enjoyment of others.
Survivors include her only daughter, Jane Coppedge Brooks and husband, Cecil, of Big Canoe, GA; granddaughters, Cecilia Brooks Dixon of Orlando, FL and Leslie Brooks Kelly of Atlanta, GA; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; her brother, Bobby Joe Hendrick of Mantachie; and many nephews and nieces.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Shiloh Methodist Church Sunday at 2 p.m. The family will greet friends after the service. Dr. Bill Causey of Clinton will officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery in Mantachie. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge.
