Mozingo March 19, 2006
On March 16, 2006, Barbra Ann Damon Mozingo slipped the surly bonds of Earth and touched the face of God. Barbra was born on February 21, 1948, the only beloved daughter of Mildred L. "Mickey" and Robert J. Damon, in Houston, Texas. She attended HISD and AISD schools. A lifelong Girl Scout, she became a Girl Scout leader (San Jacinto Council) as an adult. Barbra led a full and enriching life, volunteering with HISD schools, PTO organizations, and becoming a master ceramicist, artist, and crafter. She owned her own business, the Ceramic Patch, and later became a valued dispatcher for the Yoakum Police and DeWitt County Sheriff's offices. She was pursuing an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice at the Victoria College. Our newest angel is welcomed into heaven by her father; her brother, Robert J. Damon, Jr.; her daughter, Stacy Brooks Mozingo; maternal grandparents, Hazel Blanche and Russell Bostic Paxton, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Beulah Damon Musil and John R. Damon; step-grandfather, Frank Musil; aunt, Ruby Hester; and dear cousin Lynda Kent. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of thirty-nine years, Douglas Brooks Mozingo; her daughter, Tammy Ann Mozingo; her dear mother; uncle, Russell Bostic Paxton, Jr.; aunt, Lela Kimmel; and many beloved cousins, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Rosewood Funeral Home, with a funeral service to be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, March 20, 2006, in the Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel, 2602 Old Humble Rd.
