WILMA B. KOHNEN Sept. 25, 1939-Jan. 25, 2007
DUDLEY-- Wilma Rae Barwick Kohnen, age 67, of 407 Nancy Drive, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. She was born in Wayne County to the late Charlie and Ruth Mozingo Barwick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward William Kohnen. Mrs. Kohnen was a member of Brogden United Methodist Church and had worked at Barry of Goldsboro for over 20 years and had worked at K&W Cafeteria until September 2003. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. and Pam Kohnen of Dudley and David and Teresa Kohnen of Goldsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Renae and Doug Edenton of Partlowe, Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Faye Barwick of McGee's Crossroads and Johnny and Bonnie Barwick of Kenly; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva and Gene Joyner of Newton Grove, N.C. and Betty and Paul Watson of Seven Springs, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Brice Kohnen, Mitchell Kohnen, Haley Kohnen, Brandon Kohnen, Heath Kohnen, Morgan Kohnen, Rodney Leckemby, Timmy Leckemby and Jessica Edenton; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Chris Leckemby.
Family members will greet friends Friday night from 6 until 8 p.m.at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caretakers, Judy Whitfield, Lynn Holland and her special sister-in-law, Nancy Geagan. They would also like to thank Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the special care and attention given to them and their mother during this difficult time.
