Hazel L. Parrish, age 79, of Mount Vernon, died on Monday March 17, 2008 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon following an extended illness. She was born on November 11, 1928 in Licking County to Emery J. Hess and Stella (Grubaugh) Mozingo and had spent most of her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Hazel had been employed as a clerk for Georges Drive Thru in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are two sons Jerry (Heidi) Parrish and Franklin(Judith Howard) Parrish both of Mount Vernon, a granddaughter, Carolyn Parrish and a brother George Mozingo of Fredericktown.

Besides her parents Hazel was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Hess, a brother Merlyn Hess and two sisters Pauline Shover and Gladys Hess.

Friends may call at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM where a funeral service will follow at 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 AM in Lock Cemetery. Rev. Jamie Gump will be officiating.
