Geraldine M. �Gerry� Franks, 66, of Ocean City, formerly of Newark, Del., died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at home with her family by her side.

Franks and her late husband, James Edward Franks Sr., founded, owned and operated Glasgow Deli. She was an active member of the Elks Lodge #2645 in Ocean City, where she was recently recognized as Elk of the Year for outstanding community service. She was also an active member of the Ocean City Ravens Roost Club.

In addition to her late husband, Franks was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Laura Mazingo Metague. She is survived by her family, James Edward Franks Jr. and wife Kathy of Ocean City; David A. Franks Sr. and wife JoAnne of Newark; Steven M. Franks and wife Theresa of Blackbird, Del.; grandchildren, Kristie Franks, Stephanie Lee and husband Danny; James Franks III; David Franks Jr., Samantha Franks; Sara Franks; Leighanne Franks; sister, Harriett Picala of Chester, Pa.

A funeral service was scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802, or to the Ocean City Elks Lodge, 13708 Sinepuxtent Ave., Ocean City, MD 21842.
