MARTINSVILLE, Ill. � Howard Davis Jr., 76, of Bethel Park, Pa., formerly of Martinsville, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, in Manor Care Nursing Home in Whitehall, Pa. He was born on Sept. 4, 1931, in Minden, La., to Howard and Agnes Monzingo Davis. A graduate of Rose-Human Institute of Technology, he was a retired mechanical engineer for Marathon Oil Company.

Survivors include a son, John Davis of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Carolyn Cross of Bethel Park, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Alex.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. CST Tuesday at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., in Martinsville, with the Rev. Don Graham, officiating. Burial is in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville. Visitation is 12:30 p.m. until services Tuesday. Memorial donations may be given to Martinsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Martinsville, IL 62442.
