Margie Dale Pye Monzingo

Margie Dale Pye Monzingo, 82, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, in the Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Monsignor James E. Young of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Monzingo was born February 16, 1923, in Sacul, Texas, to Thelma Fain and J.L. Pye. She was a Baptist, graduated from Nacogdoches, High School in 1940 and attended Stephen F. Austin State University for two years. She was a legal secretary for almost 50 years, working for Vickers and Vickers in Lubbock, Texas, for 23 years before returning to Nacogdoches in 1974 to work for Stripling and Sutton, until her retirement in 2000.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Monzingo; and her son, Chad Monzingo.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Faye Nell Monzingo of Alto, Texas; sister, Kitty Upton of Carthage, Texas; nieces and nephews, Carol Musgrove of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Molly Duke of Laneville, Texas, Gayla LaGrone of Carthage, Texas, Don Upton of Kerrville, Texas, Doug Richardson of Garland, Texas, Mary Ganter of Garland, Texas, Martha Siemonsma of Falfurrias, Texas, Randy Yates of College Station, Texas, Phil Richardson of Boise, Idaho, and Julie Harrison of Cummin, Georgia; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Paul Ganter, Randy Yates, Ronnie LaGrone, Richard Duke, Bill Burchfield, Craig Stripling, Don Upton and Clay Still.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today.
