Doris Monzingo Lomax
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Monzingo Lomax, 87, of Minden, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Rose-Neath Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Dubose and the Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m., today, September 1, at Rose-Neath in Minden.
Mrs. Lomax, a lifelong resident of Minden, died on August 30, in Minden. She worked as a bookkeeper 38 years for Webb Hardware in Minden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 73 years and worked many years serving meals for the church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, A.C. ?Jimmy? Lomax and parents, Bascomb and Carrye Monzingo.
She is survived by one brother, Harold Monzingo and wife Betty of Whitefish, Mont.; one nephew, Dr. Stephen Monzingo and wife Pam of Calgary, Canada; one niece, Cindy LaChance and husband Tom of Whitefish; two great-nephews, Tyler Monzingo of Calgary and Clay LaChance of Whitefish; two great-nieces, Kristen Monzingo of Calgary and Alissa LaChance of Whitefish; cousins, John Killen Turner and wife Elizabeth and George Turner and wife Ruth; children adopted by love, Harry and Pat Stahl; grandchildren adopted by love, Doug and Kay Stahl and David and Lauri Stahl; and great-grandchildren adopted by love, Chris Stahl, Shannon Stahl, Josh Stahl, Heather Stahl, Aubrie Stahl and Natalie Fuller.
Pallbearers will be Rodger Anderson, Ken Garcin, Wayne Orr, Chris Stahl, Jack Voorhies and Wally Watts.
Honorary pallbearers will be the 50+ group at First United Methodist Church in Minden.
