Mary C. Mazingo - 1921-1998
Mary Catherine Mazingo, 77, Hancock, MD, died Tuesday, November 17, 1998, at Washington County Hospital. Born June 21, 1921, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Molly Reel Landers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon L. Munson, in 1976; and by her second husband, James J. Mazingo, in 1985.
She had been a seamstress for Jacob Brothers and Cauburn Inc., in Hancock.
She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berkeley Springs, WV.
She is survived by six daughters, Deanna Snider, Grapevine, TX, Sharon Rash, Waynesboro, PA, Cathy Baden, Hancock, Sheila Vinson, Baltimore, MD and Judy Michael and Connie Yost, both of Berkeley Springs; three sons, Dennis Munson, Laurel, MD, Wayne Munson, Smithsburg, MD and Richard Munson, Kutztown, PA; one stepdaughter, Patricia Koch, Accokeek, MD; seven stepsons, Roger Hoffman, Florence, KS, Foster Hoffman, Towson, MD, Calvin Hoffman, Berkeley Springs, James O. Mazingo, Baltimore, Jeffery L. Mazingo, Hancock and Ross E. Mazingo and Dennis G. Mazingo, both of Hagerstown; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther Mitchell, Pearl Caddie, Louise Hoffman and Rosalie Landers; and two brothers, William Landers and Maurice Landers.
Services were held Thursday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Brian Jones officiated. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
