Apparently Mary Mozingo Hayes and Joe Peel may have been too friendly according to the court testimony. There was not enough evidence to convict Joe Peel for the murder of John H. Hayes of New Hope, Wayne County, North Carolina R. D. Hinson was the adminstrator of John H. Hayes the date is confusing for it gives DEC 1872... and it stated Richard A. Hinson, but I believe it to be Richard D. Hinson
