A.C. Robinson

STAMFORD -- A.C. Robinson, 82, of Stamford, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Stamford with the Reverend Calvin Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

A.C. was born November 9, 1919, in Morgan, TX, to John and Annie Robinson. He married Maurine Monzingo and she preceded him in death. He later married Frances Clement on April 12, 1977 in Stamford. A.C. had been a resident of Stamford since 1945, moving here from Kopperl, TX. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Harvesters Sunday School Class. He retired from Lone Star Gas in 1984 after 38 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Clement Robinson of Stamford; two stepsons, Doug and wife, Kay, Monzingo of Pflugerville, and Montie and wife, Vivian, Monzingo of Garland; three stepdaughters, Patti and husband Larry Kirkeby of Vancouver, Washington, Barbara and husband, Ray Hohertz of Round Rock, and Donna Moore and John Amo of Redford, Michigan; a daughter- in-law, Leah Robinson of Abilene; six grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike Robinson, a grandson, Cary Clement Moore; four sisters, a brother; and his first wife, Maurine Monzingo Robinson.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Dr. Christopher Ruud and his staff and Hendrick Hospice.

Pallbearers are Alan Plumlee, Jerry Terrell, Jerry Taylor, Joe Walton, Bingo Bolin and Buddy Bolin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Harvesters Sunday School Class and the coffee drinkers.

Michael Lynn Robinson

Michael Lynn Robinson, 45, died Monday at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Wylie Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Highway 277 South.

Mr. Robinson was born in Haskell and graduated from Stamford High School and McMurry University. In 1982 he moved from San Angelo to Abilene, where he was a city carrier with the United States Postal Service for 12 years.

He married Leah Hargrove in Austin in 1977. Mr. Robinson was a member of Wylie Baptist Church and the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was a United States Air Force veteran.

Besides his wife of Abilene, survivors include his parents, A.C. and Frances Robinson of Stamford; two brothers, Doug Monzingo of Pflugerville and Montie Monzingo of Dallas; three sisters, Pattti Kirkeby of Vancouver, Wash., Barbara Hohertz of Round Rock and Donna Moore of Redford, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
