About Me

  I was born in Provo, UT while my parents were attending Brigham Young University. As far as what I can remember the first time I picked up a pencil to draw was when I drew a "portrait" of my grandparents on the wall of my playroom.(that didnt go over too well with my parents.) Later on, rather than using a wall as my canvas, I started taking classes in school and put my pencil to paper. Through school I was able to participate in various art competitions where I won a Gold Key in the Junior Mid-south scholastic Art competition which was held with Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, TN and first place in the Central Ozark Conference (COC) art competition. While attending school in Jonesboro, Arkansas at Valley View High School I applied for art scholarships and recieved a $24,000 scholarship to Memphis College of Art and a full tuition art scholarship to Arkansas State University. Unfortunately I did not accept these because I had planned to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Instead of studying I worked for a year in order to have the means to pay for my mission. On my mission to Monterrey, Mexico I learned a great deal more than I ever had before and I know that it has helped me to prepare for the future, I now plan to continue working and growing in the field of art.
