Bitter Gourd ( Indian / Vegetarian )

Ingredients:
500 g bitter gourd, cleaned and cut into small pieces
1.5 tsp turmeric powder,
2 tbsp oil
2 cloves
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 fresh red chillies, chopped
few curry leaves
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
a pinch of pepper powder
salt to taste
a few mint leaves, chopped

Method:
Add one tsp of turmeric powder to the gourd and saute it in one tbsp of oil. Keep aside. Heat remaining oil in a pan, add cloves, garlic, onion, chilles, and curry leaves. Saute well. Add remaining turmeric, coriander and chilli powder. Fry a little more. Add the gourd and cook well. Add salt and pepper and garnish with mint leaves. Drain off any excess oil before serving.
