My Memories of Star:

I remember one evening when Star and I was riding through the woods
and the sky became to dark for my eyes to see the way home. I laid the
reins down across her neck and asked her to take us home. She carried me
home with such care and love, never a moment of fear, just determination.

Star could do whatever was asked of her. We could shut a gun while we
were mounted on her back, she loved to run barrels, race, did trail, she
was always a wonderful trail horse and maybe she wasn’t a world-class
pleasure horse, but she always gave 125+%.

I rode her in 4-H and at that time I had little to no horse experience, but we
learned together over the years. She always knew when she would win a barrel
class; she would prance with her head held high. It was as if we were
touching heaven, dancing and prancing, we were angels, of course.
She was always so patient with me and brought me great joy and pride.

In 1993, Star gave birth to a beautiful filly for the last time. She was
starting to show some signs of having arthritis in her front shoulders.
Over the years the arthritis traveled to her front legs. I knew that my
time with her was coming to an end.

El Bees Boy "Bubby" at 28 years old

Bubby was a wonderful trail horse, cow cutten horse, college training horse,
and has been a wonderful friend to Lawrie through out the years. Bubby
enjoys riding children around once a year, to raise money for St. Judes
Childrens Hospital. Bubby now spends his days relaxing on a farm
in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee. Bubby will live out his days
along side his sister, Star. Bubby is a registered with the AQHA
"American Quarter Horse Association".
