AJ sat down on Jennifer's bed. What just happened? He couldnt understand where Alyssa's anger came from. He loved her, but he also needed to be there for his friends.
Meanwhile Alyssa lay down on her bed and turned on the radio. 'Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely' came on. "Figures" she said to herself. The truth was, she was lonely without AJ. She didnt like it when he gave all his attention to Jennifer, but she knew Jennifer needed it. She sighed as AJ's verse came on.
Down the hall Brian comforted Caitlyn who had still not recovered completely from her illness, but she was getting better.
"You ok?" he asked as they layed on the bed together watching TV.
"Yeah" she said. She flashed him a smile. He looked so cute in his flannel boxers and white, fitted t-shirt.
"Brian?" she said quietly as he stared intently at the television set.
"Yeah" he said, looking down at her
"I just wanted to tell you how irresistable you are" she said as she playfully messed up his beautiful sandy blonde hair.
"Hey, watch it" he teased. "I can tell someone is feeling better" he said with a smile. He leaned over her and just when she thought he was going to kiss her, he began tickling her. She rolled around trying to get away from him as he continued making her laugh. Once he got her pinned, he stared deeply in her eyes. They both felt the same electricity race through their bodies. For a moment neither moved nor spoke, they just watched the other's every move. Then Brian broke the silence.
"Did anyone ever tell you just how beautiful you are?"
Caitlyn didnt respond with words because she knew that no words could desribe the moment. She simply placed a gentle, yet so passionate and meaningful kiss on his soft, wet lips.
Meanwhile...
Jennifer just stood there, trying to comprehend how one person could have such bad luck. "Great, how many times does an elevator break down. Figures I'm in it with YOU" she said in a sarcastic tone as she pressed every button angrily trying to get out.
Nick stood there watching her every move. God she was beautiful, even when she was mad...especially when she was mad. She had that spark in her eyes that drove him crazy. Ok, snap out of it Nick, dont blow it, he said, trying figure out what to say to her without making things worse.
"Well, arent you going to help me?" she demanded
"Yeah, sorry" he said quietly.
The two tried frantically to get the elevator to work.
"Try the phone" Jennifer said, her voice hinting her attitude
Nick tried it. "Not working" he said as he hung it back up
"What do you mean its not working" she said as she walked over and picked up the phone, trying to prove him wrong.
As she placed the phone back on the hook he shot her an 'I told you so' look. She glared at him.
"What do you think I'm stupid" he said, now getting mad at her resentment towards him
"Well, apparently you didnt know that dating someone while your engaged is wrong, so yeah, I DO THINK YOUR STUPID" she said as her face grew red and her voice got louder.
"Ok, I didnt want to bring that up right now, but since you did, what are you talking about?" he demanded
"You know, YOUR FIANCE" she screamed
"I dont have a fiance" he said, trying to remain calm
"Well according to the hotel, you left with her" she said angrily
"What??" he asked, more confused than before
"They said you left with some woman who said she was your fiance" she replied quickly
"I didnt leave with my fiance, I was dragged out by my..." Nick stopped mid sentence and stood there with a shocked look on his face. He suddenly figured it all out.
"WITH YOUR WHAT?" Jennifer demanded, now losing patience
"The B*TCH" he said under his breath
"What?" Jennifer said, thinking that comment was directed at her
"She lied" he said as a very angry look came over his face.
Jennifer stood there, trying to comprehend what just happened
Nick, sensing her confusion, explained it all to her.
"You know how Manda and I used to date, well, she is supposedly pregnant with my kid and she wants me to come back in her life. Well, she knows I, um, love you too much to leave you, especially for her, so she tried to split us up by pretending to be my fiance" he said to Jennifer, all in one breath
"Huh?" she replied
"She told the front desk she was my fiance, knowing you would come looking for me and ask them. She knew you would hear from them that I was gone with my fiance" he said
"How, how can I believe you" she said. Tears where now forming in her dark brown eyes.
Nick didnt reply. He simply walked over, placed his warm, gentle hands on her soft, pale cheeks and pulled her lips to his. He kissed her. She felt a jolt of electricty run down her spine. She knew she loved him, but could she trust him? His kiss seemed to answer any doubts she had. He loved her and that was that. She felt it in his touch and his kiss. She wanted the moment to last forever.
Suddenly the silence was broken as the elevator started working again. The doors opened and the two lovers found themselves face to face with their worst nightmare.
Meanwhile...
"Alyssa" AJ called from outside her door.
No answer
"I'm sorry" he said just loud enough for her to hear
Alyssa sat inside, not sure whether she wanted to talk to him or not. Finally, she gave in.
She opened the door. She couldnt believe what she saw. A smile came over her face as she tried to find AJ's beautiful eyes amongst all the flowers, chocolate and stuffed animals he was holding.
"What? No singing telegram" she said as she started to shut the door.
"Wait" he called. "I can sing"
She laughed as she pulled him in and kissed him firmly on the lips.
"Oh man" AJ whispered as he dropped everything he was holding.
"Thats only the beginning" she teased him playfully
"If this is how we make up, then I think we need to fight more often" he said as a sexy smile came over his face.
"Hold up Mr. McLean" she said as his hands moved to the inside of her sundress.
Just as things were getting heated up, someone called.
"Be right back" Alyssa said as she pulled away to answer the phone.
AJ just stood there, watching her.
"Oh my gosh" she said as she picked up the phone. "I'll be right there"
"What happened?" AJ asked as he watched her put her shoes back on in a hurry.
"Um nothing" she lied. AJ knew something was up, but she wasnt telling him.
"Stay here" she said as she ran out of the room.
