"Amanda, I told you I would help you financially, but you had to stay out of my life" Nick said, his voice trembling. Oh dont let Amanda ruin this. I just got back with Jennifer. I cant lose again, not now, not ever he told himself.
"Thats not what you said last night when your girlfriend wouldnt give you any" she said as she seductively approached Nick and pressed her thin curvy body against him.
Jennifer couldnt take it anymore. She shoved Amanda out of the way and ran off crying. How could he? How could she let herself forgive him? She found herself entering the nearest bathroom and collapsing in the closest stall.
Nick suddenly forgot about Amanda as he ran after Jennifer. "Wait" he called, but it was too late, she was gone. His eyes filled with tears. He felt a cold, unwelcome hand on his shoulder.
"Just get the f*ck away from me" he snapped. He knew it was Amand by the scent of her strong perfume. He could recognize that horrible smell from a mile away.
"Fine, just dont come begging to me for anything" she whispered in his ear as she walked away.
Nick fell to his knees in the hallway as he remmebered the sensual kiss he had a minute ago. He longed for her in his arms. He loved her.
Meanwhile....
AJ, still all worked up from his quick run in with Alyssa, sat on the bed, hoping she would return soon because he didnt think he could wait very long before his body exploded. Just then his cell phone rang.
"Hello"
"Hello, Mr McLean?"
"Speaking"
"Do you know a Ms. McAfree?"
"Alyssa? Yeah, why?"
"You might want to come down here"
"Where? Who is this?"
"This is Doctor Yorkshire at the Las Vegas Hospital. Ms. McAfree has just been rushed to the emergency room"
"WHAT???" he yelled
"I cant give details out over the phone, but hurry" the doctor said as he hung up the phone.
At a nearby restaurant....
Howie and Kevin sat waiting for their food. 2 young girls approached their table slowely.
"Hey" Howie said as they reached the table, both trying not to giggle
"Hi" one of the girls managed to say
"Can we get an autograph" the other girls said, her voice shaking
"Sure" Kevin said as he took the copy of the 'Millennium' cd they were holding. When Howie finished signing he handed it back to the girls.
"Thanks" they said as a beuatiful young woman came up behind them.
"What did I tell you girls before I left?" she said
"Not to bother them while they were eating" the little girl said as she dropped her head, unable to look at anyone
"Well..." the lady replied
"But.."
"No buts. I told you no" she said as she apologized to Howie and Kevin.
"Its ok" they said in unison, both mesmorized by her beauty. She grabbed the 2 girls hands and began to walk away.
"Wait" Howie called
She turned around
"Why dont you join us for lunch" he suggested
"Um, we better go" the lady started to say
"Amber, please" one of the girls begged
"Fine" she said with a smile. The truth was, she sort of had a crush on Howie. She was never able to admot it though, come on, she was 20 years old, silly celebrity crushes should be saved for Karen and Jessica, the two little girls she was babysitting for the day.
A few hours later...
Jennifer had managed to leave the bathroom and slowely made her way upstairs to her room. She noticed AJ was gone. Where could he be? She longed for a hug and was secretly hoping he would still be here. She collapsed on her bed. She couldnt get Nicks kiss out of her head. How could something so wrong feel so right? But was it really wrong? Was Amanda lying, or was Nick?
Just then a ringing phone disrupted her thoughts.
"Hello" she said, her voice trembling
"Hey" James said on the other line
"Hi"
"Tomorrow at 9am I want to see your SMILING face in the lobby. We have a video to shoot" he said
"Ok, be there" she said as she said goodbye and hung up the phone.
Great, this should be fun, especially since Nick is in the video. She didnt want to face him, at least not right now.
The next day...
Jennifer, after getting ready, headed downstairs where she found Howie waiting.
"Hey, what are you doing up so early on a day off?" she said as she sat next to him
"I'm meeting someone" he said with a smile
"Ahhh...a girl?" she said, poking him playfully in the shoulder
His smile answered her question. "What about you?" he asked
"Video" she said, not sounding enthusiastic
"Arent you excited about shooting your first video?" he asked
"I normally would be, but I have to do it with Nick" she replied
"Oh, I see, so you two still arent back together?" he said, his voice sounding concerned
"No, I mean, we were, but then we had a little run in with Amanda" she said, trying not to show any emotions.
"Ouch" he said as James walked around the corner.
"Ready" he said, interupting Jennifer and Howies conversation.
"I better go. Have fun" she said as she kissed him on the cheek
"Bye" he said as he watched her walk around the corner
James and Jennifer left the hotel and headed to the first location for the shoot.
When they arrived they were greeted by Kyle Roberts, the director.
He immediately started getting Jennifer ready. She got dressed in a trendy little 3 quarter length t-shirt and a pair of khakis.
"Ok, first we're shooting you and a few friends shopping for outfits for the scenes tonight" he said
When that was done, they went to a hotel room and shot the girls getting ready for the big night out. Jennifer was wearing a sexy tube top and sparkly black pants.
It was getting late. Nick had just been called to the set. Here we go Jennifer thought...
Earlier that day...
"Hey there sexy" Amber said as she approached Howie. Very nice she thought to herself as she suddely checked him out. He was wearing a nice black fitted shirt and a nice pair of Structure pants.
"Hey" Howie replied. Wow he thought. She looked so sexy in a cute flowered sundress that showed off her long tan legs. She was beautiful.
The two left, neither one could take their eyes off the other. They decided to go get coffee at a nearby coffee shop.
Meanwhile...
"Where can I find a Ms. McAfree?" AJ begged franctically as he ran to the front desk of the hosiptal.
"Are you immediate family?" the woman asked
"I, um, am her, SHES MY FIANCE" he lied, desperate to find out what happened.
"Calm down. Name please" she replied, her tone unchanged despite AJ's urgency
"Alexander James McLean" he said quickly
"Is that a lowercase 'c' in McLean" she asked, typing it in her computer
"Just fucking tell me where she is" he said barely above a whisper, but loud enough to make the woman hurry.
"Intensive Care, floor 2" she said as AJ took off.
AJ's heart was beating so fast he thought it was going to come right out of his chest as he ran towards the reception area of the ICU.
"Ms. McAfree" was all he could make come out of his mouth
"Ahh" the lady said as she called a young, handsome man over. "Doctor Yorkshire. Mr. McLean is here" she said
The doctor came over and shook his hand.
"Whats the matter with her?" AJ said, trying to remain calm.
"I'm sorry" Doctor Yorkshire said, bowing his head down, "shes been hit by a car"
AJ's dark brown eyes flooded with tears as his face went pale.
"We have every reason to believe she will be ok, but she's pretty beat up" he continued
"Can..can I see her?" AJ asked, sounding like a lost child
"Right this way" the doctor motioned
He opened the door and what AJ saw almost made him faint.
