That felt good Jennifer thought as she climbed out of the shower. She wrapped herself in a towel and opened the bathroom door where she would be able to change without it being all steamy.
At the same time
"Room 301. This is it" Nick told himself. He opened the hotel room door.
"AHH" Jennifer screamed as soon as she realized she wasnt alone in the room anymore.
"I'm...um....sssorry" Nick muttered. He could feel his face turning red as he stared at the beautiful bruntette standing in front of him wearing only a towel.
"Its, um, ok" Jennifer stuttered as soon as she figured out who had just walked in on her. She knew she must have been blushing.
"I think they gave me the wrong key" Nick said in a tone barely loud enough for Jennifer to hear. "I'll go tell them"
"Ok" Jennifer said as she tried to cover herself up more.
For what seemed like forever they just stared deep into one anothers eyes, neither able to move. Finally a screaming child down the hall broke their gaze and Nick turned to leave, apologizing one more time.
As soon as he left the room Jennifer collapsed on her bed. Some first impression Jennifer thought.
Several Hours Later
"I hope everyone is rested" James said as he led the girls towards the bus. "Lets go through the routine once on the stage and make sure everything is set for tonight. Then we'll stick around the arena and you guys can eat in the cafateria and get ready in your dressing rooms. I want you all to be backstage at exactly 7:15pm."
The practice went smoothly and the girls all headed towards the cafeteria to get some much needed food.
"Yum, this looks good" Caitlyn remarked as she put some spagetti on her plate.
"I'm going to go sit down" Jennifer said after she had gotten her food.
"Ok, meet you at the table in a minute" the girls said.
On her way to the closest seat Jennifer accidentaly dropped her headband on the ground.
"I'll get it" said a voice from behind her
Before Jennifer could say anything she turned around to find herself face to face with Nick Carter.
"Oh, I didnt realize it was you" he said blushing
"Dont sound to thrilled" she remarked, somewhat annoyed.
"No, I didnt mean it like that"
"Then what did you mean?"
"Its just that.."
"What?"
"I'm sorry about earlier"
"Its alright, it was an accident and its no big deal. I had a towel on."
"Ok" Nick replied, trying to conceal his embarassment by not looking into her eyes.
Trying to break an uncomfortable silence, Jennifer spoke. "Well I dont think we've been properly introduced. I'm Jennifer, your opening act."
"I'm Nick, its a pleasure to meet you"
"Well, I better go eat before this gets cold. It was nice meeting you"
"You too, bye" Nick said as he left the cafeteria.
Jennifer went and sat down next to the girls who immediately stopped what they we're doing and looked at her with curious stares.
"What?" Jennifer asked, referring to their stares.
"Ok girl, we want details" Caitlyn joked
"About what?" Jennifer asked innocently
What happened with Nick over there" Alyssa asked
'Nothing" Jennifer quickly responded
"That certainly didnt look like nothing" Caitlyn said, pressuring her to say more
"It was no big deal, he was just helping me out and we were saying hi...we had met earlier that day at the hotel" Jennifer said, not wanting to reveal her embarassing moment to anyone, not even her good friends. She hoped Nick felt the same way.
"Oh ok. Well, the show should be awesome tonight" Alyssa said, sensing Jennifer didnt want to say anymore, but knowing there was more to it then she was revealing.
"Yeah" Jennifer said. The girls finished the rest of their meals in silence and then they split up. Caitlyn and Alyssa went to play some basketball, Sarah went to relax in the dressing room and Jennifer went to a meet and greet for some fans.
"When can we get your single?" asked one fan at the meet n greet.
"It is scheduled to be released May 16th" Jennifer told her.
"Cool. I love it!" the girl continued
"Thanks" Jennifer replied
The meet and greet lasted about another half and hour before Jennifer left to get ready.
Showtime....
"I take it back, all those times I said I loved you, I take it back all those times I held you close" Jennifer sang as the crowd cheered. When the song was finished she introduced herself and the dancers and sang the rest of the songs without any mistakes.
"You did great!" James applauded her
"Thanks" she responded. Jennifer then turned and headed back towards her dressing room. After she showered and changed she went and watched the rest of the Backstreet Boys show. As she watched them, she couldnt take her eyes, or her mind, off Nick. His gorgeous blue eyes drove her nuts when she looked into them. I have to get out of here she decided. She headed out towards the the back of the arena. She knew from living in Florida, that the beach was not far, so she decided to take a walk along the water. The ocean always made her forget her problems. As she approached the water she found the perfect spot to sit and watch the moonlight bounce off the water. How peaceful she thought.
Suddenly she heard footsteps behind her. Afraid to turn around, she continued to remain silent, hoping the other person would walk away.
"Mind if I sit here?" said the person behind her.
She recognized the voice and wanted to say no, since he was one of the reasons she had come to the beach in the first place, yet unable to resist him she replied, "Sure Nick, go ahead"
"I love the ocean and how the moon reflects off of it at night" he told her
"Yeah" she muttered
"You did good tonight" he told her
"Thanks you too" she replied
The 2 sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity before Jennifer broke the silence. "Its getting kind of cold, I think I'm going to head back to the hotel"
"Wait, I'll walk you back" Nick replied
Unable to resist him, she smiled and thanked him
He helped her up then placed his jacket over her shoulders. He is so sweet she thought to herself.
As they approached the hotel they said their good nights and Nick walked Jennifer to her room before going back to his. Before Jennifer could even regain her composure from her evening with Nick, there was a loud knock on her door.
"Who is it?"
"Its me, Caitlyn"
"Whats up Caitlyn?"
"Oh my gosh, I just met the most amazing guy and I had to tell someone and Alyssa is out clubbing with AJ and Howie" Caitlyn said all in one breath
"Really?" Jennifer smiled, remembering her own experience. "Who is he?"
"Brian"
"Brian, as in Backstreet Boy Brian"
"Yep" Caitlyn said smiling from ear to ear
"Thats awesome Caitlyn"
"Whos jacket do you have?" she asked, changing the subject completely
"Oh" Jennifer realized she still had Nicks jacket "Its Nicks"
"Oh...someone had a nice night I can see"
"Its not what you think, we ran into each other on the beach and I was cold"
"Oh I see" Caitlyn said smiling
"Knock knock knock"
"That must be Brian, I told him he could find me at your room. We're going to get dessert. Wanna come?"
"No thanks, I'm pretty tired. have fun though"
"I will" Caitlyn said as she left down the hall with Brian
I better return his jacket Jennifer thought to herself. She headed down the hall to Nicks room and knocked on the door.
"Coming" Nick said from inside. He opened the door to see Jennifer standing there. "I didnt expect to see you again tonight. What a pleasant surprise" he said with a smile, a smile that made Jennifer's heart melt
Jennifer stood there, forgeting why she came to his room, after she saw him. He looked amazing. His hair was still wet from a recent shower and he was wearing only his boxers. "I..um...here" she said handing him the jacket
"Oh, I forgot about that. Thanks. Why dont you come in"
"I shouldnt" she replied, although she wanted to so badly
"Why, got a hot date?" he joked
"No" she laughed
"Then come in" he pleaded, looking at her with those baby blues
"Well, if you insist she joked
"I knew I'd get you" he laughed
