04-05-2000: Two members of the platinum-selling pop trio TLC are apparently getting ready to walk down the aisle.
Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and rapper Mack 10, who are expecting a child together, will marry in Los Angeles in August, according to a spokesperson from TLC's record label, LaFace Records.
Meanwhile, the same TLC rep confirmed that Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was spotted shopping for diamond rings with her boyfriend, model Sean Newman, at Tiffany's in London recently.
TLC is currently on hiatus from recording and touring as a group, though Lopes will keep busy recording a solo album. Though nothing is confirmed, Lopes would like to collaborate with several artists for the project, including Lenny Kravitz, Lil' Kim, and Madonna. Lisa hopes to have the album out by the end of the year (see "TLC's Left Eye Looks Forward To Solo Project").
Currently, TLC's "Dear Lie" is not slated for a commercial release. For the week ending March 4, "Lie" was at No. 51 with a bullet on the Hot 100. On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, the title held at No. 70 for a third week.
"Lie" is the fifth cut to chart from TLC's "Fanmail." It follows "Silly Ho" (No. 59, Hot 100; No. 21, R&B), "No Scrubs" (No. 1 Hot 100 and R&B), "I'm Good At Being Bad" (No. 38, R&B), "Unpretty" (No. 1, Hot 100; No. 4 R&B), and "Dear Lie" (No. 51, Hot 100; No. 70, R&B).
Both "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty" benefited from being available commercially in order to help them hit higher peaks on the charts.
"Lie" could still move up the charts though based upon airplay alone. It's ranked top ten at KHTT, Tulsa, Okla.; WDJX, Louisville, Ky.; WKSL, Memphis; WFLZ, Tampa, Fla.; KFMS, Las Vegas; and KZZU, Spokane, Wash.
It's tough to say why labels decide to hold off on releasing commercial singles. Perhaps they would rather concentrate on promoting the album, or maybe they are waiting for airplay to pick up on "Lie," or perhaps they are just opting to hold off releasing a retail piece until the next track gets worked from the album.

Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas spent most of yesterday in the George Washington University Hospital. Seemed like she sprung her ankle before the Washington D.C. concert. After Christina's set, the concert was delayed for 75 minutes. Chilli did make it on stage, but the concert was cut short. Chilli handled most of the dance grooves, but she ended the
show hobbling on a cane.
Keep Ms. Chilli in your Prayers!
The Concert was off the hook. My Full review will be up by the end of the week. Vega did really well, and can't forget TLC brought down the house! The Madison Square Garden show will either be a HBO special or Pay-Per-View in February or later on in the year. Stay tuned for more details.

Dick Clark thinks the American Music Awards have become so predictable that he is willing to make it interesting. For every one of the following predictions that doesn't come true, he will donate $10 to the Red Cross.
Clark's Favourite R&B album prediction: The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (Lauryn Hill), My Love is Your Love (Whitney Houston) and Fanmail (TLC). Hello? Wasn't the Lauryn Hill record a hit two years ago? Don't want no scrubs, I pick TLC.
UPDATE: TLC JUST WON, BEST R&B GROUP!

In a very quick interview, Melanie C confirmed that "Never Be The Same Again" is the next single, along with 'Go!' which is being released as a double-A side, but she also mentioned really quickly, that if Left-Eye from TLC refuses to let it be released, she'll either take Left-Eye's vocals off, or replace it with 'If That Were Me'."
Congrats to Donnell Jones and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes for there single
"U Know What's Up!"
being #1 for 10 weeks straight on the R&B Singles Chart.
MTV News was even on hand at the concerts, so look out for exclusive footage on MTV really soon. Hardcore TLC fans replied that they did not detect NO QUARRELS, ANAMOSITY, OR TENSION between the girls of TLC. Left Eye at one point yelled out, "TLC Forever!" We TLC Fans know they will stick together, no matter what...

The second single for Vega will be "Mommie" [Due Out 02-01-2000]. The song is a phat grinding mid-tempo groove with a banging bumping bass. The song is about a guy trying to get with a Girl, as well as take care of her son. It is a really great song, and I am sure it will do really well. When DARP asked me to help pick the second single, "Mommie" was my second choice. I am sure Vega fans will enjoy it. I am sure the guys will sing the song on the TLC Fan Mail 2000 Tour. So check it out then.

There are some new editions, one being the new male group VEGA! Vega is Dallas Austin's quartet off his new record label, FreeWorld. I just received there album in advance, and I have to say it's really good. Virtual Vic-E is on a track called, "Playette". It's the J-A-M! Vega will be joining the TLC 2000 Fan Mail Tour, along with Blaque and Christina. Check this site for more information on VEGA!
Another new edition is the CYBERTOWN.com chatroom where you can enter a 3D World and even talk to Virtual Vic-E. You can also write Vic-E an E-Mail and get a response back. We all know Vic-E is not real, but it is fun pretending she is. Vic-E is just a fictional character, so don't take it to seriously.
Also check out CYPTRON.COM AS WELL AS TLCFANMAIL.COM for all the updated news0 on TLC, Vega, and Vic-E. There is also a new sound section where you can hear all the tracks Vic-E is featured on.
