It's Will
Here's a statuette,
perfectly planned and hardened.
Just the thing to stand
motionless in the garden.
And so, here you stay,
safely anchored where you lay.
Y'know, thinking's nice
but it's will that gets things done.
Another rosy dream
goes whistling through the kettle.
The pressure bleeds away
to the clinking of cooling metal.
You can blame some big 'they'
for throwing your schemes in disarray.
Y'know, thinking's nice
but it's will that gets things done.
Talk of peace and hope
while preparing for Armageddon.
Treating all the world
like a great big diaper for you to wet in.
Dreams provide the map
but fear often sets the heading
as thought and hope conspire
to make them late for their own wedding.
Once you find your steel
it sets things in motion for you.
Find which end's the bow
and the water will part before you.
So why live in a dream
when you've the strength to slip between?
Y'know, thinking's nice
but it's will that gets things done.
