“Kate!” Nick called, as she and the kids walked into Brian and Leighanne’s house.
“Hey baby!” Katelin greeted, walking over to where he was standing with A.J.
“Hi daddy!” Aaron announced.
“Hey little man!” Nick said, grabbing his four-year-old son and throwing him up on to his shoulders. He leaned down and gave his wife a kiss. “Hi.”
“Hi,” Katelin smiled. “So what’s this all about?” she asked, setting her and Nick’s one-year-old twins, Brian and Kayleigh, down in the playpen Leighanne had set up in the corner.
“You’ll see when everyone gets here,” Nick answered. “We’re still waiting for Amanda and Kristin.”
“Hey Katie!” Brian greeted, running over to them. “How’s my favorite baby sister-in-law?”
“I’m fine,” Katelin laughed. “Where’s Leigh?”
“She’s getting Hunter up from his nap,” Brian responded. “She’ll be down in a minute.”
“So what’s going on guys?” Katelin whined. “Tell me!”
“You’ll find out when everyone else does, honey.” Nick laughed as he threw an arm around her shoulders. Nick had called her about two hours ago and asked her to meet him at Brian’s house, telling her that they had an important announcement to make to everyone. He wouldn’t tell her anything else besides that and just to make sure that she was there by seven. It was now ten after seven and Kristin and Amanda had just arrived. Leighanne came down the stairs with eleven month old Hunter on her hip and joined everyone else in the living room.
“So what’s going on guys?” Amanda asked, sitting down on the couch.
“Well, as you know, the five of us had a meeting today,” Kevin began. “And we’ve decided to go back into the studio.”
“Really?” Kristin asked. Kevin nodded. “That’s great honey!” She jumped up and gave him a hug.
“So what’s this going to be?” Katelin asked. “Just an album or is this going to be everything? An album, a world tour, what?”
“The whole nine yards, babe,” Nick said, sitting down next to her, grabbing her hand. “Can you believe it? It’s been three years!” Katelin plastered a fake smile on her face and kissed her husband, congratulating him. She glanced at Leighanne and saw the same expression on her face. They were both happy for their husbands but both couldn’t help but feel a little betrayed. While their husbands were off touring the world, what was going to happen to them?
