Bitch

Katelin put on the finishing touches of her makeup and checked herself out in the mirror. She had on black pants and light blue tank top. She grabbed her purse and her black leather jacket and walked down the stairs into her living room. “Daddy?” she called.

“Yes, sweetie?” he answered, emerging from his office.

“I’m going out dancing with Ang,” she told him, checking her purse for her keys and wallet. “I’ll probably be kind of late!”

“Just be careful,” he leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Let me get James to drive you.”

She rolled her eyes. “No daddy. I have some cash. I’ll just take a cab.”

“Nonsense honey,” he almost laughed, shaking his head. “You’re not taking a cab anywhere. James’ll drive you.” Katelin groaned. She hated being treated like this. She just wanted to be like any other New Yorker and take a cab. But no way would her father let his only daughter be like ‘any other New Yorker.’ Twenty minutes later, James pulled up in front of the Ritz Carlton hotel. “See ya Jimmy!” She called, stepping out of the limousine. “Thanks a lot!”:

“Bye Miss Katelin,” James smiled. “Will you be needing a ride back?”

“Nah,” she replied, shaking her head. “I don’t know how late I’ll be. I’ll just catch a cab!” She slammed the door and went into the hotel.

Nick stopped his conversation with Brian as the front doors of the hotel opened. His jaw nearly hit the floor as she made her way over to the crowd. When he realized who it was, his face immediately turned into a scowl. “Bitch,” he muttered, earning an elbow in the guy from Brian.

After getting everyone assembled, they made their way to one of New York’s most up-scale clubs, which, incidentally was owned by Katelin’s father. They all climbed out of the limos.

“Do you we honestly have to wait in this line?” Alyssa groaned.

“Nope,” Katelin said, grabbing her hand. “We can go right in.”

“What?” Nick scowled. “Just because you’re with us you think that you can get right in?”

“Actually,” Katelin smirked at him. “It’s more like my father owns this club and they know me here. But you can go with your theory if you want.” She tossed her hair over her shoulder and practically skipped to the front door as Brian and Howie stood laughing at Nick.

Nick turned around, glaring at them. “Shut up.”

The club was bumping when the whole crew entered. Some guy all dolled up in a suit walked over and gave Katelin a kiss on each cheek. “Miss Taylor! It’s so good to see you here.”

“Josh,” She rolled her eyes. “It’s Katelin. Please. Anyway, these guys are up from Florida and I want to show them a good time. Well most of them at least.” She casually tossed a glare in Nick’s direction and he stuck his tongue out at her in return.

“Grow up, Nick,” Kevin scolded, elbowing his younger ‘brother.’

Josh led them over to the VIP section and they all scattered around some tables. Katelin, Ang, Brian, Krista, AJ, and Nick all sat at one. While Kevin, Howie, Howie’s girlfriend, Christine, Brooke, Alyssa, and the other male dancers sat at another one.

Later in the night, everyone had basically paired off. AJ and Krista, Brian and Ang, Brooke and Kevin, Howie and Christine, and Alyssa and Steve, one of the other dancers. All of the couples were out on the dance floor while Nick and Katelin sat at opposite ends of the table and glared at each other. “All dressed up and no one even noticed.” He smirked.

Katelin was just about to come back with a smart ass comment when Tyler approached her. “Would you like to dance?” She looked up and smiled. “I’d love to.” Getting up she laughed at Nick. “Have fun talking to yourself, Nicky.”

“Bitch.” He muttered under his breath, for the second time that night.

After a few songs, Tyler started dancing with another girl in the club so Katelin made her way back to their table, just as Nick was too. “Aw, rejected all ready?” he asked, batting his eyelashes at her.

“Are you always this pleasant to be around?” she barked, now down-right pissed at his rude behavior. Okay, so she had gotten a little out-of-hand earlier in the day but really. Did she deserve the attitude he was giving her? The thought had barely crossed her mind before she chuckled to herself. Probably.

“No. You just seemed to bring out the best in me.”

“What is it, Nick?” She rolled her eyes. “Stage lights fry your brain? Or is it just that too much money inflated your ego?”

“Why are you such a fucking bitch?” He yelled, slamming his drink down on the table. “Have you always been like this?”

“You just bring out the best in me,” she mocked him. “God, am I going to have to suffer through six months with you?”

“You can quit, you know,” he barked, glaring at her. “I don’t want you here anyway. Why don’t you just go home to daddy?”

“Fuck you,” Katelin growled. “Keep drinking. Maybe you’ll drink yourself to death.”

“Is that what you said to your mother too?” He chuckled. Katelin’s head shot up, tears glistening in her eyes. Without a word, she grabbed her jacket and ran out of the club.

Ang and Brian walked over to the table where Nick sat, playing with the straw in his drink. “Where’d Katelin go?” Ang asked, taking a sit next to Nick.

He shrugged. “She had to leave.”

“What did you say to her?” Ang narrowed her eyes at him.

“What makes you think I had anything to do with it?” He cried, his eyebrows raised.

“Because she told me earlier that the minute you pissed her off, she was outta here,” Ang replied. “Now she left without telling me, which is very unlike her, so I’m assuming you had something to do with it.”

“Well I didn’t say anything,” he mumbled, feeling slightly guilty. Okay, so maybe the comment about her mother was a little over the line. But the girl really pissed him off. It was such a shame, too, because she was damn hot. “Not my fault she’s so god damn moody.”

Ang glared at Nick and was about to protest but Brian quickly jumped in, changing the subject. “Look at AJ and Krista,” he commented, pointing out at the dance floor. Nick and Ang turned to see what Brian was talking about. “Way to go Bone!” Nick yelled, laughing at his friend.

AJ and Krista were out on the dance floor, dancing to Lauryn Hill’s “That Thing.” Krista had her left hand on AJ’s lower back and her right was on the back of his neck, pulling his face towards hers in a passionate kiss. AJ’s hands were slowly creeping up underneath Krista’s short, black skirt. “Mmm…McLean,” she mumbled against his lips, stopping him. “I don’t think so. Not here.”

“Aww. Come on,” he pouted. What about at my hotel?”

“Now that can be arranged,” she smiled, slyly. He grabbed her hand and, after saying goodbye to everyone else, dragged her out of the club.

Since it was approaching 2am, the rest of the group decided to go also. Before they reached the limo, Ang pulled Nick to the side. “I don’t know what the hell you said to her that made her run out of here like that, but, so help me God, you do anything else to upset her, I’ll fucking kill you. She’s been through way too much in the past few years and I will not have you rubbing it in her face.” She let go of his arm and got in the limo. Nick stood there, looking slightly taken aback for a minute before climbing in after her.
