orators dark future (cdr from yuffie's sub quest) the orators serve up a little over a half hour of nice techno, breaking from the noisieness that has generally made up most of their [his, actually] releases so far. although to be honest signs of his techno leanings have been evident in a few recordings, especially the split with astroboy a while back, and actually i would say they also have a bit similar styles. but does a recording like this stand up to the furrowed brow of an armchair listener like myself? would i have introduced it as 'nice' if i didn't think it was? each track seems pretty well thought out, with nice melodies intertwining and building off eachother, complimented by good beats. i especially liked the final track 'bright future (lovesong 18)' and 'compressionism', a couple of the more thoughtful tracks on the disc. my armchair rating: it's good stuff, worth your listen.
