andy kisaragi who says you can't make noise love songs? (cdr from yuffie's sub quest) my first response to the title of this cd was: i say. i don't necessarily think it is impossible to make a noise love song, but i think it's pretty damn hard. and if these are love songs, i'd say they were more the sexual frustration moody type of love songs, especially so on the first track 'a pretty nasty track i made for sally even though i hardly know her and she probably won't even like it anyway', and the second to last 'I think I am falling in love with you. Goodbye' which are both pretty abrasive although in completely different ways, the first being pretty dense rumbling and feedback and random melodies, and the second being stuttery nasty loops and white noise. but still, would we regard them as love songs of any sort without the titles to explain what he's trying to say? the short answer: yes, a couple of them. 'over here (featuring ami kisaragi)' was rather nice, a live recording of some chugging noise, which is interrupted by ami coming into the room and saying "i'm going to sit over here" ...i don't know, there's just something about that track i really liked, maybe cos i've used vocal samples of girls i've been attracted to in my own recordings.. also the final track 'fort hex' was rather nice, with atmospheric string sweeps and digital percussive sounds.. as a whole the album was pretty good, and great packaging, with the covers made from actual photograph contact sheets. although none of this matters now, cos it was limited to four copies, which are now sold out.. ah well.
