Jungle/Drum & Bass

Jungle (or drum & bass) is a style of dance music that originated in the UK in the early nineties. It developed from the progressive electro-sounds of the UK rave scene, eventually branching off from other forms of electronic dance music, forming its own genre. The underground jungle scene has since exploded worldwide. The music is always progressing and artists are constantly reshaping the sound of the genre. Personally, I was drawn to jungle because of the creativity that goes into the beats. Jungle beats are amazingly complex, moreso than any other musical genre that I can think of. Perhaps it's the sound of those drums that drove me crazy and drew me to this form of music. Because of the constant progression within the genre, jungle has lost none of its appeal to me. I still go nuts on the dance floor whenever a DJ drops a floor-rocking track. Hopefully, as a DJ, and someday as a producer, I will be able to draw other people to experience what I experience when I hear the sounds of drum and bass.
